Mark has 50 years life experience (wisdom comes with age, right?) and over 28 years experience writing copy for ads, articles, marketing materials, publications, catalogs, and various radio/TV commercials. He is an Ezine Articles Platinum Member, Associated Content published writer as well as contributing and publishing on several other article and freelance writing sites including Demand Studios, TextBroker, Examiner, and Constant Content.

One of Mark's greatest passions in life is being a part of people's lives all around him, especially family. He has been married to his college sweetheart for more than 26 years and still loves her deeply. The single best experience of his life was the birth of his children and the chance to experience life with them every day. He works and plays with his wife and children at his spacious home studio/office where has made a living as a freelance illustrator and writer since 1994.

Mark is a fine art painter as well and has work in several galleries around the U.S. His paintings have been juried into more than 50 national exhibitions over the last 5 years. Another of his passions is painting plein air in the Colorado Rockies. Most of his family still live there and he travels there several times each year. Some of his paintings can be viewed at www.markoehlert.com, or http://MarkOehlert.imagekind.com/GalleryOne.

Encouraged by an uncle who served as an engineer for the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad, Mark continues to pursue his intense interest in railroad history and creates paintings based on his extensive research in this field. He also enjoys classical music, opera, classic rock (especially ballads), anything by Enya. He is an avid movie fanatic and filmmaker.
